The Brixton Finish Line!

Getting to the Brixton Sister Finish Line!

Okay, so I have to apologize for the craziness of life. I've been MIA from this lovely blog for months. Life has thrown me a few curveballs. My EDJ (Evil Day Job) and everyday life are in limbo, and it's been hard to write.

I've realized though that inspiration doesn't always come to you. Sometimes you have look for trails, hunt it down, and shoot that sucker right in the eyes. This is coming right after seeing Jurassic World, so excuse my predator lingo.

I've been delayed in getting Carmen's story out because life placed a mental block there. However, I had to remember that Charice and Claire's stories didn't come easy to me either. Sometimes you have to just tune the world out and get your ass in the chair.

Now, I have a reason to do just that. I will be doing a book tour with The Alpha Warlocks' Desire in the beginning of August with Diverse Book Tours. I want Carmen's story to be out before then so readers can get the full Alpha Warlocks of Kala West experience, and for those of you who've been with it since the beginning, to get that promised third story.

So this week, my ass will be tuning shit out. The crazy stuff that depresses you and makes you sad as hell will not affect me. I have some writing to do. I have some readers to please. I have a world that needs continuing. The Alpha Warlocks Own must happen, and it must happen now.

If you see me around in social media land, say hi. Then promptly command my crazy behind to get back to writing. As I've mentioned before, Carmen's story isn't the last story in the world of Kala West. There's a lot of work to be done.

Until then, here's a picture of the Florida Keys, similar to how I see Kala West beaches, to give you a little visual stimulation:

In other news, I'm happy to say that my first in the series, The Alpha Warlocks' Claim, is part of an amazing bundle of ménage romance stories called Double Your Pleasure. If you're in the UK, you can get it HERE. Even if you've read Charice's story in this first installment, some amazing authors are part of this bundle. Check them out! For less than a dollar, you can't go wrong.

Happy Sensual Reading,

Auriella

Final Brixton Sister Cover!

My Third and Last Alpha Warlocks Cover...Or is It?!

Hello Skye Readers!

So if you all have been keeping up with the Brixton sisters, you know that Carmen is the last sister...or is she?

I have said before that this series is just the start. I will be working on (and hopefully releasing by May/June) my first Curvy Paranormals of Kala West book. This series will be longer, hotter, and full of supernaturals. Menage sexiness all around.

Also, witches and warlocks aren't the only creatures coming out to play. Vampires, werewolves, and ghosts will be saying hello, among other things.

I also plan on releasing a prequel...one that centers around the sisters' mother, Seraphine, and her warlocks, Callen and Cruz. So when this third story comes out, don't worry. It's far from the end.

Now, for the moment of reveal.....

My third cover for the Alpha Warlocks of Kala West series, The Alpha Warlocks' Own:

In this third installment, you'll meet Carmen, the BBW fire witch, and her Alpha Warlocks, the Durant twins, Ryan and Royce. Ryan is an air warlock, and Royce is a fire warlock. You can imagine the fire storm these two create.

If you remember the first book, you've already met Ryan. Now, all the characters come back to save the youngest Brixton sister, including her smexy and yummy warlocks.

Look for this to come out late April or early May. If you haven't read Charice or Claire's story, they are both available on Amazon and are Free in Kindle Unlimited.

Check Charice's out HERE or if in the UK, HERE

Find Claire's story HERE or for UK readers, HERE. Claire's story is $.99 for a limited time, so jump on it!

Check out the COMING SOON tab for more details on Carmen's journey and the story synopsis.

Utilizing Daydreams and Observations to Kick-Start Story Ideas

Quick and Dirty Skye Tips #3 - Daydreams and Observations: Story Idea Generation at Its Finest!

Hello Skye Readers!

I was reading over a self-help writing book that told people how to get ideas for writing. That's one thing I'm not lacking on. I have so many awesome ideas and too little time to write them all. However, I was surprised to find out two missing mental tools missing in the book I was reading that I have come to value: Daydreaming and Observing. Let me break both down.

1. That Far Off Look In Your Eye May Be Your Next Story

Has a parent or teacher ever told you, "Get your head out of the clouds!" Maybe a person was talking to you, noted your vacant look, and asked, "Are you listening to me?" That's a big one I hear most often because, honestly, sometimes I don't. The world is a busy and noisy place, and sometimes I tune it out. Most times I don't realize I'm doing it, but sometimes I do.

In my upcoming story, The Alpha Warlocks' Desire, my heroine is a daydreamer herself. Claire, as an earth witch, always makes her way down from the clouds sooner or later. Me? Sometimes it takes me a little longer, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

You may have noticed that one of my taglines is "Conquering New Worlds and Conversing with Her Characters Daily." This may seem quirky, but it's true, and yes, I am a little crazy from it. I think most writers will tell you they're a little crazy, but so are actors, singers, entrepreneurs, and anyone who longed to break the conventional path of life.

The reason why I use this as a tag is because I'm constantly thinking about my characters and their journeys in new worlds. I've tried to force things in outlines and stories, but sometimes characters guide what they want to be without me pushing and prodding.

I've always been a big daydreamer. Movies have always been a passion of mine, and usually they cause me to think and daydream long after the credits finish rolling up. Some of my best ideas come from daydreaming up stories after watching an awesome movie or T.V. show.

I watched Being Human (both UK and US versions), Lost Girl, and Witches of East End last year, as I have ever since they all started. I thought it was awful that these shows had season finales and wished that I could keep some magical elements going for my own enjoyment. Then the seeds of the fictional town of Kala West, Florida was planted.

The next time someone tells you to stop daydreaming or start listening, say okay, and then jot down your daydreams. They just may be your next story idea.

2. Observing Humans (and Sometimes Animals and Aliens) Interact Builds Ideas

Let's face it. As a society, we're nosy by nature. Haven't you ever been in traffic, only to realize it was partly in due to nosy drivers gawking at the scene of destruction? Be honest. You were probably one of those nosy drivers.

As a Central Floridian, I-4 is our biggest interstate because it leads people straight to tourist central: Universal Studios, Disney, and loads of other fun for outsiders. Not so much fun for us locals, let me tell you.

But one great thing about living in a big city like Orlando is that there are many opportunities for people watching (animal watching too). I have got some good ideas for verbal fights by watching couples scream at each other in Barnes and Nobles, noting how strangers greet each other at Starbucks, and viewed how religion can help (and hurt) people when going to church.

These small instances add up and can help when creating your own character relationships. The alien comment stems from MegaCon coming to town soon, but it can also be from movies, since loads of films give personification to animals and aliens (Avengers sequel anyone?).

Anyway, the point is that observing people, and other living things, in their habitat can enhance storytelling. The same goes for dialogue. I love dialogue. You are definitely going to get loads of dialogue when you read any one (or all :-D) of my stories. But the way I talk isn't the way everyone talks, so hearing the voice of others helps to portray different characters outside of myself.

It's your turn again. What was a daydream you had that could have been a kick-ass story idea? Remember, it's not too late to start it!

Auriella

The Alpha Warlocks Desire is Almost Here, Folks!

My Playlist for Claire and Carmen's Stories

Hello Skye Readers!

I know some of you are anxiously waiting for the next Alpha of Kala West story to come out. I promised a March release, and it will be out by the end of this month, which is only less than two days away!

To tie you over, I figured I'd share my playlist for both stories. These songs have been great at helping me flesh out each character and their paths. They also have great connections to each of my heroines. If you haven't heard any of these songs, you should check them out. The greatest thing about being in Amazon Prime is that they now have music that these artists can be found in. Okay, enough selling.

Without further ado, here are the lists:

Claire's Story - The Alpha Warlocks' Desire

Peace - O.A.R. (Of A Revolution)
Love Me Like You Do (Fifty Shades of Grey) - Ellie Goulding
Don't Kill the Magic - MAGIC!
Haunted (Fifty Shades of Grey) - Beyonce
Heartbeat Song - Kelly Clarkson
Dark Side - Kelly Clarkson
Love Me Harder - Ariana Grande
Lay Me Down - Sam Smith
Bring Me to Life - Evanescence
All Around Me - Flyleaf
Celestial - Tori Kelly

Carmen's Story - The Alpha Warlocks' Own

Love Sex Magic - Ciara ft. Justin Timberlake
Worth It - Fifth Harmony
Closer - Ne-yo
All About That Bass - Meghan Trainor
Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey) - The Weeknd
Talking Body - Tove Lo
Burnin' Up - Jessie J ft. 2 Chainz
Shattered (Turn the Car Around) - O.A.R. (Of A Revolution)
Burning Bridges - OneRepublic
All the Right Moves - OneRepublic
Black Out Days - Phantogram

As you can see, I have eclectic musical taste. My reading habits are just as broad. I love me some Kelly Clarkson, OneRepublic, and the Fifty Shades of Grey album is awesome, no matter what you may think of the movie.

Now, I'm curious about you all or as we say in the south ya'll. What songs do you listen to when you're reading or writing? Do you see songs that would fit my stories even better than the one's I'm listening too? If so, feel free to share. I love hearing from readers and writers alike!

Chapter Endings and Wandering Sexual Minds

Quick and Dirty Skye Tips #2: Ending Chapters on a High (Orgasmic) Note!

Hello Skye Readers!

Recently, I went back and reformatted some of my stories on Amazon. I got caught up in some of them, and I realized that in order for readers to enjoy my stories, I have to enjoy them as a reader too. If I don't like the storytelling, why should I make another person suffer through it?

Reading some of my other favorite erotic romance authors and getting into my own long writing marathons for second parts of my two erotic romance series, Alpha Warlocks of Kala West and The Erotic Circus, I've noticed a few things that can make both readers and writers satisfied with the end of a story. These are my Quick and Dirty Skye Tips #2:

1. The Build-up Must Be Strong and Authentic to Set the Mood

This may be a "Duh" moment, but I don't just mean candles and music. You need to set the characters up for a strong connection long before they get down and dirty. I love reading quick and sexy reads just as much as the next person, but I've noticed with my dirty, I also need sexy foreplay first, both emotional and physical. I am a woman, after all ;-).

If you throw characters into bed, I want to know why they are there, even if it is only for meaningless sex. This way when the sheets are ruffled and the hot action is done, I can leave satisfied with events too.

2. Sexual Tension Needs to Be Real, Scorching, and Include Everyone Involved

A lot of my writing has more than two people. Usually, it's two men and a woman, which is a favorite storyline of mine, especially since there are few interracial BWWM (Black woman, white man) menage stories. However, it's easy to get lost in writing a story and forget the third player.

I make it a goal to have everyone do or say something every couple of lines. Remember that childhood lesson about giving everyone else a turn? It definitely applies here. Otherwise, the reader will be a few pages into the sex scene asking, "What happened to the other guy (or girl)? Did they fall asleep or something?" That is a bad and boring thought to give any dedicated reader.

This is kind of an expansion on the first set of Quick and Dirty Skye Tips, but I want to take it a step further. The reactions of all parties involved also need to be described. If someone is being licked somewhere, how does the receiver respond? And when a third person gets involved, do they react the same way or differently? This helps to make the scene steamy but technically accurate and real for the scene they are all actively participating in.

3. Emotions Mingled with the Five Senses are Key

I'm sure you remember the emphasis on the five senses in grade school: taste, touch, sight, smell, and sound. Well, these never change, especially in romance writing. Whenever you create a setting, visualize yourself there and share it with readers.

How does his lips taste in a kiss? What does her skin feel like as his fingers glide across it? How does the rich billionaire look in his designer threads? What smell invigorates the alpha shifter so he's ready to pounce and claim his sexual prey? What does her moan sound like to urge her lover on?

Never assume your reader knows these things. I tend to get caught up in my own fictional worlds, so I tend to accidentally do this as well. It's so clear and vivid to me that obviously my readers can experience it too, right? Nope. That's what description is for, to use as an invitation to your world. Go ahead. Invite some people in.

So, now it's your turn. What was the best erotic romantic ending that left you hot, bothered, and still satisfied but craving more?

Alpha Warlocks of Kala West #2 - Two Covers Down, One to Go

Thanks and My Second Alpha Warlocks Cover!

Hello Skye Readers!

If you're one of the many readers who's downloaded one of my stories, I want to take time to say thank you. I may not be there with you as you press the "Buy" button or swipe the Kindle page, but I still appreciate each and every one of you.

And now the moment of revelation.....

My second cover for the Alpha Warlocks of Kala West series, The Alpha Warlocks' Desire:

Look for this to come out early March. If you haven't read Charice's story, you can check it out HERE.

In this second installment, you'll get to meet Claire and her Alpha Warlocks, Axel and Jett. Hardcore names for some hardcore alpha candy.

I am really enjoying finishing this one because the mythology of the Triad Bond is explored a little more. Check out the COMING SOON tab for more details.

After Claire, Carmen finally has her fun chance in the spotlight, and let me tell you. She's a firecracker. Literally, since she's a fire witch.

If you're still craving more Kala West, Florida action, don't worry. The fun won't end with the Brixton sisters. Nor will witches be the only paranormals hanging around town. Until the next post.

If you want to be in the know for when these two books debut, join my MAILING LIST!

Sex Scene...What?

Quick and Dirty Skye Tips #1: Romancing Up to the Sex Scene!

Hello Skye Readers!

I just finished a story, and guess what? My big sex scene was the last thing I wrote. Crazy, right? Especially for a person who writes mostly erotic fiction.

But I realized this was a good thing. Why? It's all about the build up. That's even more important the the sex itself.

A look. A small touch. A craving. It all leads up to the big connection. It's part of the fantasy.

The stuff that rarely happens in real life. Okay, it happens to the lucky ones. As a single girl, I'm happy to live out the fantasy until the real build up comes along. Maybe even after that.

What did I learn along the way? I'm calling these Quick and Dirty Skye Tips #1. LOL

1. Story Elements Need to Set the Romantic Mood

This may be a "Duh" moment, but I don't just mean candles and music. I mean if it's a werewolf romance, show him graze her skin with his fangs. If he's a warlock and she's a witch, something magical needs to happen, damn it. The story elements need to be present in the romancing.

2. In Threesomes, A Person Can Easily Be Left Out

A lot of my writing has more than two people. Usually, it's two men and a woman. I've noticed that I can easily make one person the third wheel. It may be that the character hasn't spoken in a while or the other two aren't acting and reacting to them. Everyone deserves a chance in the spotlight.

3. Dialogue Needs to Work With the Action

If the female lead is being, let's just say orally, pleasured, chances are she's not going to say three long lines of dialogue. Unless someone is really bad at the task at hand. Short and clipped dialogue can come in handy during peak moments. ;-)

So what's your fantasy build-up? Is it a werewolf that can smell your arousal from a mile away? A vampire who craves your body and your blood? Or just a good old-fashioned guy who can't get enough of you?

Alpha Warlocks of Kala West #1 - One Cover Down, Two to Go

My First Alpha Warlocks Cover!

Hello Skye Readers!

One thing that's great about doing my own covers is being proud of the finished product. I have great friends who always give me awesome feedback on my covers.

This is the most excited I've been about a series in a while. I know I still have at least two others to finish (especially The Erotic Circus and Women Warriors of Lustania), but that's what I love about ideas. You never know what's going to take off and beg you to finish it.

Here is the first of Alpha Warlocks of Kala West, The Alpha Warlocks' Claim:

I'm excited and scared at the thought of the release, but I'm damn proud of the turnout. I admit, I'm biased :-P.

But I'm curious. What emotions and thoughts come out when you do your cover or art creation?

Happy Sensual Reading,
